As a Minnesota senior photographer, every photoshoot is a unique adventure, but some sessions stand out as truly extraordinary. Last year in the beginning of August, I had the pleasure of photographing Caleia, and the experience was nothing short of magical. As we navigated the bustling streets of downtown Hudson, Wisconsin on a hot summer day and stopped at a sunflower field on our way to our second location, the day unfolded into a series of incredible moments worth cherishing.

Downtown Hudson Wisconsin provided the perfect backdrop for capturing the vibrant personality of our Class of 2024 Hudson High School senior. The charming streets, adorned with boutique shops and colorful flowers, offered a diverse range of settings to showcase her dynamic spirit. Caleia’s sweet and bubbly personality shines through these portraits.

I was determined to find “new spots” in a town that I’ve photographed numerous times. We ventured different streets and little did I know I found some incredible new backdrops, lots of greenery and the most stunning light.

Caleia’s outfits were on point! Prior to our session she sent me an email with her outfit choices and I told her to bring them all! Because they all look so incredible on her. I absolutely loved how she incorporated pops of color (that green top!). Keeping her pants white, neutral and bright was a great way of keeping our photos brighter and fresh. This is a great tip for families, couples and seniors.

We were incredibly lucky to have had her session during sunflower season! If you love sunflowers keep this in mind when choosing a date for your session! The radiant yellow blooms became a natural extension of the joy emanating from Caleia, and the photos captured amidst the sunflowers and that golden hour light were nothing short of breathtaking. They are truly some of my favorites from her gallery.

Caleia’s continuing her education and athletic career at St. Mary’s University! I’m SO proud of her! I had the best time chatting, capturing and getting to know her. She’s as stunning on the outside as on the inside. As a photographer, it’s moments like these that remind us of the joy that can be found in the art of capturing someone’s essence through our lens.
